Sustainability at JLC means taking responsibility for the environmental and social impact of how we work. You can see it in the decisions we make, not just in a policy.
The move to Sevenoaks
Our commitment to reducing our impact shaped the biggest decision in our recent history. Our former London premises had served JLC for decades, but the age of the building limited how efficiently it could operate and how far its carbon footprint could realistically be improved. Rather than remain in an ageing facility, we moved to Sevenoaks, a modern site designed for greater efficiency, lower environmental impact, and for servicing petrol, diesel, hybrid and fully electric vehicles as the industry changes.
Reduce, reuse, recycle
We work to limit unnecessary single-use plastics, choose recyclable materials where practical, separate packaging and cardboard for recycling, and reuse what can be reused. The principle is simple: use less, reuse where we can, recycle wherever possible, and dispose of the rest responsibly.
Responsible workshop practices
Waste oil, used tyres, batteries, fluids and air-conditioning refrigerant all require specialist handling. Tyres go through the proper disposal and recycling channels; refrigerant is recovered with the right equipment and never released; oils, batteries and fluids are managed through the appropriate processes.
Repair, don’t replace
Accurate diagnosis has an environmental benefit as well as a customer one. Finding the root cause first time means fewer unnecessary replacement parts, fewer repeat journeys and less waste. Correct maintenance extends the life of every vehicle we care for.
Our responsibilities
Environmental responsibility forms part of the standards expected of Royal Warrant holders, and our approach follows Jaguar Land Rover’s own sustainability direction as the industry moves to electric. Our Impact Statement extends this thinking to our employees, customers, suppliers and community: investing in our people, developing the next generation of technicians, and operating responsibly for the long term.
